CONSULTATION & RECOMMENDATION

- Recommended Solutions:
√ The extended top portion of the zipper tape should be folded at least 5 mm away from the protruding
cut teeth (at the top stop area). This helps prevent any exposed tooth remnants from sticking out.
√ Using plastic top stops is recommended - especially for infant and children’s garments - as they
help minimize contact with sharp cut teeth.

K. Notes on sewing zippers with plastic top stops
- During sewing, if the feed dog comes into contact with the plastic top stop and damages it, a jagged
edge may form. This can potentially cause injury to the wearer.

- Recommended Precaution:
√ Ensure that the presser foot and feed dog do not make contact with the top stop when sewing near
the top stop or the extended upper portion of the zipper tape.
